The Metcalfe County Courthouse

The Metcalfe County Courthouse is a two-story, common bond brick structure in the Italianate style. It was built in 1868-69 on Public Square in Edmonton, Kentucky, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The courthouse is one of the oldest courthouses still standing in south central Kentucky. Many have been torn down and replaced by new structures, but the Metcalfe County Courthouse remains a beloved landmark. It is the unofficial symbol or logo for Metcalfe County, and one thing that all Metcalfe Countians can identify with and recognize.
